William H. Macy wasnt surprised thatEmmy Rossum is leavingShameless and he thinks his TV daughter made the right choice.
Weve been expecting it, the 68-year-old actor told EW on Friday.
Its hard not to think of: What would my life be post-Shameless?

And part of it is very frightening and part of it is very exciting.
Shes young and I think shes made the right choice.
Plus, she just got married.
I wish her well.
I cant wait to see what shes going to do next.
I started on the show when I was 23 and now Im not.
And its a wonderful, wonderful amount of time and I feel incredibly proud of everything we have created.
Im just filled with gratitude for everyones hard work.
Its a well conceived show from the outset.
My character is a little bit more problematical, because Im playing a character that by definition doesnt change.
But theyve done a magnificent job of figuring out where to go with this thing and its exciting.
Shamelessreturns Sept. 9 on Showtime.
