After two seasons away, Chris Wood reprises his role as Kai Parker on ‘The Vampire Diaries.’
EW talked to Wood about what fans can expect.

Kai Parker has a reputation in Mystic Falls.
Hes the sociopath who killed Alarics bride (who also happened to be his twin sister).
Hes the reason Elena will never see her best friend again.
But man, is he fun to watch.
When Kai leftThe Vampire Diariesat the end of season 6, he was very dead.
More specifically, Damon had decapitated him.
And this week, its all about Kai.
Were dropped back into where we were many moons ago, Chris Wood tells EW.
Kai distrusts everyone and doesnt really care for anyone.
He has a soft spot for Bonnie but thats probably about it.
Hes on a quest for blood, Wood says.
This character is so fun, he says.
I dont think Ill ever get to play a character like Kai again.
Its just a very unique arc that you cant really replicate outside of this Mystic Falls world.
Im so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to play him.
