The way they kept it about personal relationships, built tension, and ended on a big twist?
Yeah, thats what made us fall in love with the show in the first place.
So, lets start with the title.

And now, seven seasons later, Damons still grappling with that very sentiment.
Is he worth saving?
Bonnie, quite honestly, isnt sure at the moment.
Is this Damons way of proving hes not worth saving?
Can Damon come back from this if hes killed Tyler?
Did Damon just give up on himself?
But for now, lets catch up on the episode.
By replacing his memory of Elena, she changes the way he remembers the Wickery Bridge accident.
And if that didnt get you, Liz Forbes makes a reappearance to pronounce them dead.
As Damon tells Sybil, he never met Elena Gilbert.
And now she tells him he never will.
(I wonder how he felt about the ending of the first book.)
Speaking of our favorite former witch, shes currently in Stefans bed … with Caroline.
Ric claims hes fine with it, but it turns out Ric isnt the problem in this scenario.
Rather, its Damon, who shows up at the wedding dress store and tries to kidnap Bonnie.
Just like that, she replaces Bonnies memory with one of herself.
Once again, Damons memories are altered.
Proof its always going to be a death trap?
The fact that Sybil just walked right through the front door.
(Also, theres a dungeon in the basement.)
No, Bonnie didnt sleep with him.
As Damon puts it, he needs whatever desire Stefan has left to save him.
Sounds sweet, right?
Well, its really not.
Which man will she sentence to an eternity of darkness and pain?
After all, what kind of afterlife did you think was awaiting homicidal monsters?
And if this isnt giving you flashbacks to The Reckoning, literally nothing will.
Theres the countdown to the fight, and the discussion of Damons ability to fight back.
But when Sybil informs her it wont work, Bonnie realizes she has to choose.
And she chooses Enzo.
Again, The Reckoning anyone?!
But Damons not sticking around to find out what happens next.
According to him, his work with Sybil is just getting started.
As Sybil tells him, he still has too many attachments that they need to get rid of.
Maybe Im taking all these season 3 comparisons way too seriously, but I do love an evil Ric.
One thing is for certain though: Evil Damon is in full effect.
Killing Tyler is one thing no one would forgive.
So either Damon fully gives up on himself or he fights to get his life back.
Think about who you want, Tyler says, pulling the Elena card.
Only, Damon doesnt want any of it anymore.
So Tyler tries a different tactic: Egging Damon on, telling him to do it.
But then … Damon turns around.
And he bites Tyler.
Does he kill Tyler?
Either way, IS TYLER DEAD?!
