Allisons mother responds that they wont disregard their beliefs, and that its time for tough love.
Allison will stay with us until you fix your problem.
She becomes very protective.
Thats at the heart of the story of Eileen.
Thats her driving force more than any moralistic judgment.
Eileen acts very maternal toward Allison when she confronts her parents about rejecting their daughter.
She doesnt want to get involved because she doesnt feel like its her place.
In other words, judge not lest ye be judged.
In a way, this thing with Allison presents Eileen with almost a proxy for Kenny.
By protecting Allison, shes showing her son that she would protect him too.
Like she always says, if theres a favorite, Kennys it.
Turning to another big moment, VP Murray gets down on one knee.
I think the lovely thing about it is that Eileens beginning to recognize her own responsibility to herself.
Maybe shes lived on auto-pilot for so long, and this kind of jars her back awake.
In that sense, I think its exciting.
It opens the door for a lot more possibilities as far as their relationship.
Its nice to see her have that surprising moment, since the old, traditional Eileen might have accepted.
I dont see things becoming terribly predictable from here on out.
I see them getting much less predictable, actually.
How do you think that reflects on the family and the strong dynamic thats been built?
They manage to remain honest communicators with one another, so I guess it reflects well on us.
Jimmys like the soft-hearted, warm, gooey center of the family.
Hes an innocent in so many ways.
Not every kid needs to go to college.
In other big news, Jodi is pregnant.
How do you think that could mix things up, and what was your reaction? Its great.
I love that its with her ex-husband, whos this crazy person.
I dont know what path Jodi is going to take.
At the end of the episode, shes obviously happy, and we all are for her.
I think that this is a family thats not unexcited about bringing a new person into the fold.
