Dianes first day doesnt start off great, either.

Barbara tells Diane that she heard her speak about racial hiring at a conference once.

I hope I didnt embarrass myself too much, says Diane.

Not too much… says Barbara, throwing an incredible amount of shade at Diane.

Maia actually ends up picking up her first case ever while consulting with the union workers.

Its nice that the show didnt start off by immediately throwing us into a courtroom.

Unfortunately, the firms partners arent too happy about the case because its pro bono.

Thankfully, Marissa Gold (Sarah Steele) comes to the rescue.

Diane is reluctant to hire her, but Marissa convinces her to test her out for a day.

Now, this new case has given Marissa an opportunity to prove her worth to Diane.

Marissa takes off to the mall to find people to join the class action that her firm is building.

However, this doesnt mean Lucca and Maia still have the go-ahead for the case.

And thats where Adrians silver tongue comes in.

Against her better judgment, Diane acquiesces.

Henry tells her that his partner was behind the Ponzi scheme and framed Henry for it.

But that turns out to be a lie.

Maia meets with her mother, who reveals that it was just a scare and that shes fine.

Shes left with more questions than before.

But, alas, the technology ends up steering them wrong.

I hate losing, Maia says after court.

Shes especially bummed because she thought Frank was telling the truth.

This revelation definitely calls Lenores culpability into question.
