He tells her not to leave and they seem to make up.
Just like that, everything is fine!
Things arent as fine with Simone, though: Shes been having nightmares about her foster father.
To numb herself, she steals some of Carlottas pills and chases them with liquor.
Will going to church with Carlotta really turnallthat around?
At church, Simone meets the pastor.
He and Carlotta convince her to go up and sing, even though she doesnt know any gospel songs.
The performance-fantasy ends when Simone passes out and seems to have some sort of seizure from the pills.
he asks the woman.
