It seems like Alicias angry at Janaes arrogance in speaking for her son, which Janae apologizes for.

Boy, it sure looks a lot like Arlen Cox.

As Ashe puts it so well, Eamons is no longer part of the Preston Terry Fan Club.

Preston repeats his determination to find Joeys killer and leaves.

Ashe thinks this must be some sort of cover-up, but Derkin tells her he requested the transfer himself.

When they go to confront McFarland at his offices, theyre stopped by Sheriff Platt himself.

Ashe tells Platt that their eye is on him now, but hes not going to back down.

After all, the sheriffs wife already left him.

Meanwhile, Janaes entrance into politics hits some roadblocks.

Now one group is screaming, What about Joey?

and the other responding, What about Jesse?

Its a snapshot of the intractability of race in American politics and culture.

She and Eamons part ways.

Preston and Ashe are making headway in their case, but unfortunately personal problems are getting in the way.

On her way out of town, Ashe finds herself in a horrible situation.

Now he has Ashe trapped in her dependency on him, just like Beck.

Some historical context for all this is provided by Shawn Campbell.

The final scene gives us an indication of what might be coming next.
