In a flashback, we find out that Eric had been being blackmailed for some time now.
When he didnt pay, the blackmailer decided that $50,000 wasnt enough and upped the price tag.
When Eric refuses to listen to her advice, she gives up her job as his defense attorney.

Who is the man that attacked Neil and what for?
Who was the blackmailer?
