Rogue One concept art: See an early K-2SO and more

Now thatRogue One: A Star Wars Storyis out in theaters for most of the world to see, Lucasfilm is putting back the curtain on the making of the first spin-off film.The Art of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a book collecting concept images from throughout development, is now available, making it easy for fans to page through and see how characters like Jyn Erso and K-2SO changed over the making of the film.

To mark the release, EW is debuting some exclusive images from inside the book, including a look at the original line-up of rebels and the many iterations the reprogrammed Imperial droid went through before becoming the matter-of-fact robot we know today.

The Original Lineup

Before the rebel lineup that made it into the film, artist Christian Alzmann toyed with the idea of including alien members, including Senna, a Chewie pop in, and Lunka, something that could skitter into an air duct, almost like a little thief.
