At first the stories in MB Caschettas linked collection (following her first novel,Miracle Girls, which came out in 2014) seem like loosely plotted vignettes, windows peering into characters lives for a brief moment before pulling away.
But as the book goes on, people we thought we were finished with reappear, sometimes years older, often as secondary characters in someone elses story.
They have affairs, fall for the wrong people, explore their sexuality, and mourn paths their lives could have taken.

Caschettas prose is simple and evocative and as she skillfully weaves these individual lives together, she reveals a complex tapestry of human experience.B+
