It gave me a good energy, she recalls a week later over dinner in New York.

I was like, Im gonna fight every single one of those Trump supporters or sexists!

Some people really think a seven-week-old fetus is a baby, she says.

Im like, Are youokay?

Im trying to check on them!

(She already has an album and two EPs out in Europe.)

This new generation [of fans] wants people to speak up, she says.

You dont see an artist grow big without tweeting, except for very rare people like Ed Sheeran….

I want to share my voice and everything I think.

I dont want to be an Ed Sheeran.

Larsson mostly leaves her politics out of her music, at least explicitly.

Yet Larssons beliefs definitely shape her work.

Larssons so committed to her principles that shes not afraid to potentially upset her corporate masters.

(Luke has denied Keshas allegations.)

If theres a cost to speaking her mind so freely, Larsson isnt concerned.

When people are like, This wont be good for your career…shut up!

You dont care about my career.

You just want me to not say anything.

Womens rights are more important than my career.

And if my career dies because I said something political?

I dont want to live in that world.

I dont need a cookie for it, she says.

When Larsson gets fired up about this stuff, its easy to forget that shes only 19.

(At the time of this interview, she still had braces.)

But Larsson shrugs off any praise.

Then she leans back, grinning, and reaches for her phone.

So Goodis out March 17.
