The 2001 Premiere of ‘Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone’
Fifteen years ago Wednesday,Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stonearrived in theaters.
After making its world premiere in London on Nov. 4, 2001, and hopping across the pond for the stateside celebration soon after, the first adaptation of J. K. Rowling’s beloved series became available to viewers on Nov. 16, 2001.
It would go on to make more than $974.7 million at the international box office, pick up three Academy Award nominations, and validate the production of seven subsequent big-screen installments.
