EW has a first look atStar Treks first openly gay character in the franchises 51-year television history.

Whats fascinating about the character is that when we meet him we dont know who or what he is.
We wanted to roll out that characters sexuality the way people would roll out their sexuality in life.
That includes Stamets, whos in a romantic relationship with another member of the crew.
And you get to see his relationship.
There was a little glimpse in Sulu inBeyond, and it was a nice nod.
So hes got a little bit of an edge sometimes, which is fun to play.
