Merriam-Webster is no stranger to having todefine feminism, but this time its dictionary users themselves who are seeking out the meaning of the word.

The dictionary publisher tweeted that the word feminism which it notes is the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities was the fifth-most looked-up word on itswebsite.

This is particularly notable as its alsoInternational Womens Day, which not only honors womens struggles but also celebrates all their historical achievements, and sees many women planning to take the day off, in a sign of solidarity.

Merriam-WebstersTwitter accountthen followed up with another tweet a short while later, this one defining the word intersectionality, a term for the overlap (or intersection) of many forms of discrimination, including sexism, racism, ableism, and classism.

Intersectionality isoften brought upin regards to feminism, as it acknowledges that different women may encounter different forms of discrimination.
