We were less than.

But now, the end times made us gods.

Nick said something similar in season 1, though less prideful.

He was one of the nothing a drug addict who found his place in the infected world.

The same is true for Celia, who served Thomas before gaining control of the estate.

Can those who werent nothing find their place?

Do they have to completely change who they are to survive?

The Walking Deadalready posed these questions, and we saw Ricks group answer them.

Her husband is nervous, but she laughingly tells him to be classy for the cameras.

On the dance floor, the brides father collapses, and we can already see where this is going.

The room erupts into chaos, but Elena remains level-headed.

Travis is struggling, his feet mimicking the walkers as he drinks from a water bottle.

He still seems cold to Chris, which is understandable since he found out hes losing his mind.

If Lizzie fromThe Walking Deadwere in this series, theyd have a lot to talk about.

I can protect myself, you know this, he says.

For Travis, though, Thats what worries me.

He hears voices in the back and peers over the counter to see bodies not walkers, either.

He shoves the food in his bag, but is soon accosted by walkers shambling in through the door.

Chris looks back as they drive down the road and glimpses the guy he saved watching them flee.

Night arrives and Travis foot isnt getting any better.

They discuss where theyre heading next, though Travis doesnt have anything more specific in mind other than away.

Its a rare, genuine moment for them.

We then get a brief look at Alicia in the aftermath of the walker attack at the hotel.

And wouldnt you know, theres one staring straight back to offer a scare.

After exchanging jokes about parallel parking, the conversation turns back to the outbreak at hand.

Travis is hopeful someone is working on a cure; he doesnt believe this is the end of humankind.

They light a fire and sip from the stolen can of beans while reminiscing about their camping trips.

Water, as it turns out, is also whats causing problems for Alejandros colony.

Well, that and the oxy.

Speaking of predators, the guys Chris robbed have found them.

Travis willingly reveals them when the men call out.

After they tensely have a go at size each other up, they decide to make camp together.

Meanwhile, Alicia is making her own friend.

She emerges into the hotel hallway, which is illuminated by the pulsing yellow emergency light.

Its Elena, and she helps pull her onto the floor.

Staying optimistic, Brandon says, Well come back.

Travis notes how killing just came to [Chris] naturally, and firmly states he doesnt count.

His son does, though, blurting out 17.

Whomever has the keys controls the hotel, Elena says.

Alicia also discovers there are still guests residing in the hotel roughly 12 by Elenas estimates.

Travis and Chris are finding it hard to reach the same understanding as they sit in their tent.

He angrily tells him to crawl back to the group, while asserting Brandons crew knows how to survive.

Travis believes them to be dangerous, but Chris says, Maybe thats what it takes.

We cut back to Elena, whos about to move the walkers from the stairwell.

Despite a slip because of the walkers breaking through, Alicia slowly climbs across to safety.

Alicia then tells Elena shes coming with her to be her guide through the hotel.

The two descend to the lobby level and enter the room where the wedding from hell took place.

Travis and Chris are now riding in the truck with Brandons group.

Brandon is drunk on the lack of responsibility and pressures to make something for himself.

NEXT: Can Chris find redemption?

Their pow-wow ends when Chris points out the signs of a farm off the road.

The guys crack bring up the barn and are overjoyed to find a flock of very live chickens.

Who buried them, and is that person still on the farm?

Much like last weeks episode, tonights final moments swiftly bounce back between the two story lines.

Thats when Mr. Suarez bursts in with his rifle.

Realizing its locked, Hector attempts to force their way in as the walkers get closer.

As mother and daughter reunite, Travis kneels down to watch Suarez slowly die.

Travis instead turns away from his son, looking back on the life he took.

Chris is right, there are some things they cant get back…

But how much more will he lose before its too late to reunite with his family?
