But where would this TV musical be without its music?

We love the music ofCrazy Ex-Girlfriendso much.

Theyre smart, funny, and we listen to them all on repeat.

So, this season, EW recaps will focus on the songs ofCrazy Ex-Girlfriend.

And, starting with episode 2, Ill be ranking the top songs of the season so far.

Its a spot-on social commentary that makes its point well.

Not only that, it is the perfect explanation of Rebecca and Joshs relationship.

And Josh has always been a man of simple mind and few words, like a human puppy.

Its a slow, sultry 80s-inspired song that starts with cheesy sax a la George Michaels Careless Whisper.

Its a perfect pastiche of 80s pop.

That said, its very musically repetitive.

This one is entertaining, but not greatest hits status.

Song Ranking:No question Love Kernels is first.

Its on point with its message and a spot-on parody ofLemonade.

We Should Definitely Not Have Sex Right Now is good but not one for the ages.
