The new documentaryCommand and Controlrelates the both fascinating and utterly chilling chain of events surrounding the near-catastrophic explosion of a Titan-II nuclear missile in Damascus, Arkansas, in 1980.
The film features the minute-by-minute accounts of Air Force personnel, weapon designers, and first responders who were on the scene that night and their feverish efforts to prevent the explosion of a warhead 600 times more powerful than the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima.
Directed by Robert Kenner (Food, Inc.) and based on 2013 book of the same name byFast Food Nationauthor Eric Schlosser,Command and Controlarrives Sept. 14
