Nobody should be on the road that much you start feeling crazy.
I like being home.
We took the being-home-for-a-while option.
This album came together in that two-year period.
Someone my age whos working on cars somewhere or someone my ages whos working at a company somewhere.
Im just happening to do that on record.
This record deals with a less myopic worldview, maybe.

Hows this record different musically from previous Cloud Nothings albums?Production-wise, its a step up.
Its a very clear-sounding, full, well-produced and recorded album.
I just want everything to be as tight and necessary as possible.
Were there pop songwriters you were trying to emulate?None of the big guys.
Theres stuff I think of as pop that probably nobody [else] does.
Im a big fan of this bandRadioactivity.
Going back way back theresthe Wipers, who I was obsessed with for a long time.
That guy wrote pop songs in a way!
Its not like Taylor Swift or something, but theres a pop element to it.
Catchy songs, choruses, hooks and things.
I just want to continue that tradition.
Im curious to see where we even put that in the set!
It doesnt even make sense anywhere.
