Quill is predictable, April is anything but

Welcome,Class-mates!

Having a couple of aliens in its ranks doesnt hurt, either.

This week, our characters get to the Underneath of it all.

Theyre too busy bickering amidst themselves until Tanya sticks up for her friends.

Either way hed die.

But being a stellar boyfriend, Matteusz makes his decision easier.

(Honestly, Iwasimaging a weird, floral shadow villain for a moment.)

Faced with Corakinus and his troops, April and Ram define their relationship somewhat, because why not?

The Shadowkin are slow walkers and April might die fighting them.

Turns out, hell hath no fury like a teen scorned.

(Though he does attempt to cheat by sending troops after Ram, which she quickly shuts down.)

Activating that connection lets April actually cut through the fabric of reality, giving Ram a way to return.

But since hes being a devoted friend, hisdadandherdad step through instead.

With April on the verge of killing Corakinus, her dad tries to reason with her.

(Has he been reading these recaps?!)

He even almost quotes her line about not being made of glass!

Even Ram agrees with this summation.

Which isexactlywhat April does.

Meanwhile, Quill goes about trashing a car, only for Ames to tell her it isnt hers.

The Governors rep then tells Quill they knew this is how everything would play out (WHAT?)

and that she should come to Ames office first thing on Monday to get her Arn taken out.

D-Arnnn…

Independent Study

NIVEA:Wow.

There is A LOT to unpack in what was a very eventful episode.

Lets start with some of the easier stuff.

I especially dug Ram expressing how he felt about the way he and his dad practice their religion.

(Even the theme song kind of hints at that!)

Honestly though, I kind of like that.

Theyre slaying demons or vampires or aliens, and their parents dont even know.

What are you gonna do with an army?

), but I mostly wanted them to stay out of the way.

But and I really didnt expect to say this I think Aprils dad made the whole parental subplot worthwhile.

His selfishness convinced April to walk away from a selfish vengeance quest.

Speaking of: What did you think of Aprils motives this week?

What was her big plan?

When it came to the two of them dueling though, I dont know how I feel about it.

And while were on big life-taking decisions, what didyouthink of Charlies choice?

I kept expecting him to announce some magical third option, but he obviously got out of that one.

It wasnt his idea; he just got really lucky.

After so much buildup about choice, that resolution felt passive to me.

In the long term, that might be intentional.

Granted, thats a trauma beyond my imagining, but hes awfully high and mighty about it.

NIVEA:Actually I was a little frustrated with that story line.

I almost wanted him to use the cabinet so that something newwouldhappen.

Also, can you have a three-way Horcrux?

Is that a thing?

Parent-Teacher Conference

In an episode filled with well-meaning parents, its the worst one whos handled best.

Which they might never do, but he gave up his right to have any say in that.

Both April andClassget credit for refusing to let him off the hook.

Just stay out of the way and try not to die.

Tanya would have got that.

It was a violent thing you did, April.

Id accepted my life.
