She develops an abscess in her airway that Manning miraculously drains albeit, in an extremely painful way.
If the ends justify the means, then sure, that was a great idea.
(A doctor once explained this term to me, and it aint pretty.)
Thus, her unusual affection for the woman.
Its absolutely heartbreaking, all of it.
But Lt. Severide stepped up in two major, major ways.
