They were still far behind Sandstorm, even if theyd been getting closer over the last few weeks.
But close isnt close enough, and last weeks cliffhanger saw Shepherd in Bangkok buying chemicals for weapons.
Unfortunately for Shepherd, all that big talk and bluster is for nothing.
The man takes off in the truck thinking hes been set up, as Shepherd gives chase.
She manages to catch up to him and puts up a good fight, but its not enough.
Shes knocked off the truck and quickly arrested by the cops.
Facial recognition tracks him to Central Station, and the team converges there.
How many people are after this thing?
says Zapata, echoing what were all thinking.
Once theyre back at home base, they kick off the envelope and find a Rubiks Cube inside.
They run a site called LeakHub that leaks all sorts of high-level documents, and now theyre stepping down.
Theyre looking for someone to take over, hence the elaborate puzzles.
Using many VPNs, shes able to hide that the FBI is the one trying to secure the documents.
As much as Patterson is loving this investigation, shes left out of the actual infiltration.
Zapata and Patterson have no idea where they went.
Then, the Garran Brothers show up.
Every duo is locked in a room and first forced to take polygraph tests.
The questions are all about their relationship and the trust they have in one another.
Jane and Weller will have to kill if they want the Truman Protocol.
The other team gets to the button first though, and it ends up being a trick.
That button allows Weller and Jane out and leaks gas into the other teams room.
Its a test of morals that comes into play later.
Another team, or at least one member of that team, has beaten them there.
After all, they saved two people while also figuring out all the clues.
Despite being pretty anticlimactic, its a big win for now.
While Jane and Weller make up the central plotline here, there are other minor developments.
Then theres Reade and Zapata.
