Can you handle the Twitter rage?

(At times the episode recalledCommunitys David Fincher-inspired episode.)

From the beginning we know that this episodes case doesnt have a particularly happy ending.

Close-ups of her face reveal that shes still torn up about whatever happened.

From there, we flash back to May 15 and receive a first glimpse at who Karin is.

Jo Powers is taking all of the internets rage in stride.

She keeps walking when passersby tell her she should ashamed of herself.

You get the sense that this isnt really anything new for her.

When Karin shows up, she meets her new tech-savvy partner Blue (Faye Marsay).

Now, they cant help but entrust it to their little companions.

Yes, this dialogue is very on the nose, but thats part of the genre.

Is this any worse than the nonsense that Rust Cohle spouted onTrue Detective?

Karin isnt so easy to believe it.

That internet stuff drifts off like weather.

Its half-hate, they dont mean it, says Karin.

The hate in a marriage, thats in 3-D, thats had work put into it, thats sincere.

However, theyre both convinced its not the husband when they meet with him.

Their next stop is to the woman who sent Jo the cake.

It turns out that the woman crowd-sourced the money for the cake and sent it.

The teacher thinks its funny, but shell regret using it soon enough.

Their next lead comes from Jos autopsy.

The coroner finds one of the ADIs lodged in Jos brain.

The ADI is responsible for driving her mad and causing her to cut her own throat.

However, this isnt the only ADI-related death.

Doctors found one inside a rapper who was also recently on the receiving end of the internets rage.

Someone is hijacking control of these bees and using them to kill.

Unfortunately, most users arent aware that using this hashtag could have deadly results.

This is clearly the shows attempt at exploring Internet rage and shaming on the internet.

Thankfully, her flatmate Garrett found her and saved her and stroked her hair until the ambulance came.

She says she always suspected Garrett had feelings for her.

Karin has an epiphany: Hes the one behind the attacks.

He wants people to know what it feels for their words to have meaning.

This twist truly encapsulated what made this episode particularly striking and scary.

If youre a fairly active user on Twitter, youve probably fed the Twitter Rage machine at some point.

One of the most striking visuals was seeing all of the robotic bees swarm on their targets.

The other powerful image comes in the aftermath of Garretts final plan.

Spoiler alert: She didnt.

Blue has been searching for Garrett and tracks him down in some remote town.

(Hopefully she doesnt let Garrett lead her into a trap, too.)

Overall, I thought this was a very strong episode.

Despite its unnecessary length, it did flow pretty nicely and at times genuinely felt like a feature film.

I also love how the episode played with the tropes of the genre.

Yeah, Im divorced, she says in a way that says Of course I am.

Did you expect me, the lead character of this story, not be?

Furthermore, McDonald and Marsay just gave fantastic performances that complemented each other, forming an interesting partnership.
