Pete Holmes is the latest comedian to create and star in a series based on his own life and career with HBOsCrashing.

However, Holmes found a way to keep the concept fresh and garnered rave reviews from the hosts of PENsBingeworthy.

In this clip, Jessica Shaw calls the series a comedians show, the same way one would call a comedian a comics comic.

She notes angst found in a show likeLouie, in which Louis C.K.s fictionalized version of himself struggles against the world, noting that Holmes has a more positive outlook.

We dont see comics like that who are just kind of like, Aw shucks, I really wanna do this,' she says.
