Aladdinis about to enter a whole new world: Guy Ritchie is in talks to direct a live-action adaptation of the 1992 animated classic being produced byThe Lego Movies Dan Lin with a script byBig Fishscribe John August, EW has confirmed.
This is the latest addition toa long list of Disney animated movies getting live-action remakes and spinoffs.Beauty and the Beast,starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, arrives in 2017, and the studio is currently at work onCruella, Tink, The Lion King,andMulan.It was also revealed last year that Disney is developing a live-action prequel toAladdintitledGenies.
Ritchie is most known for directing 2009sSherlock Holmesand its follow-up, 2011sSherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.More recently, he helmed 2015sThe Man from U.N.C.L.E.,and is currently working on the upcomingKing Arthur: Legend of the Sword.HisAladdindoesnt have an expected release date yet.
