ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How will the world feel about S.H.I.E.L.D.
stepping back into the light?
JED WHEDON:I think there will be mixed feelings in the world.
There are also people who are afraid.
The idea of bringing S.H.I.E.L.D.
back into the light is to ease their fears.
So its going to be mixed.
Can you talk about Nadeers motivations?
She hates S.H.I.E.L.D., she hates Inhumans, but her brother is becoming one.
Inhuman hatred starkly resembles whats going on in the real world.
Can you talk about why you wanted to do this storyline?
There is a lot of fear of the other in our world right now.
We get to do that with humans and Inhumans.
We get to tackle those issues head-on without ever really talking about them.
WHEDON:No, were not dealing with reality, so we dont have that problem.
WHEDON:The real question is about hate.
We dont personally believe its a good thing to hate people.
Gabe tells Daisy to stay away from Robbie.
Will she abide by that?
What does her relationship with Ghost Rider look like moving forward?
So its another blow to Daisy and her emotional makeup.
How they come back together, youll just have to wait and see.
You name-dropped Gabe and Robbies uncle, Elias Morrow, who was the Spirit of Vengeance in the comics.
WHEDON:Pretty soon youll learn more next episode, I think.
In terms of the uncle and Gabe, were definitely pivoting from the storyline in the comics.
Those dynamics will be entirely different.
Were using them as inspiration.
