My co-recapper Chancellor Agard noted as muchback in episode 7when Bakuto first appeared. The show shouldve done a much better job of setting up the reveal about him and Colleen....

Turns out that after throwing him off the building, Ward actually went and retrieved him. And now, Danny and Harold get to meet face to face, for real. Harold tells Danny that he was diagnosed with cancer shortly after the Rands disappeared in that plane crash. Credit: David Giesbrecht/Netflix so that secure his help, Harold demands that Ward give Danny everything he deserves as the Rand heir. And its a real-world issue to boot!...

At times, it feels very much like a table-setting episode. Its mainly concerned with moving the pieces around and setting up the rest ofIron Fists first season. Sadly, part of that involves borrowing fromLuke Cages seventh episode but failing to capture that hours intensity. By contrast, its the clear standout of the first six episodes. She sends out a message to much more elite fighters, and each of them gets a colorful introduction. But this wishy-washy attitude gets us nowhere.) Danny, for his part, isnt even listening to Colleen that closely....

My co-recapper Christian has pointed how weird it isnt that we still havent seen Kun-Lun. Davos tells Danny that hes now the defender of Kun-Lun and his role will be to guard the pass. The other failure of the flashbacks is that they dont do anything to flesh out Kun-Lun. Credit: Netflix The opening flashback also sets up the episodes concern with fleshing out Danny and Davos friendship. In the present, Davos is pretty pissed with Danny about leaving Kun-Lun....

Im happy to report that I was right, but just barely. The arrival of Jeri Hogarth allows the show to tackle the issue of money. Is money the only thing that matters? While these are inherently interesting avenues of exploration, they only barely begin to address the shows blandness problem....

First up, we have one of the weirdest selections of the first few episodes. After waking up, hes immediately greeted by a creepy-looking doctor who keeps telling him weirder and weirder things. He even has a passport with Dannys picture and the name John Anderson to prove it. This episode is proof positive of that. We pick up first with the aftermath of last episodes bloody cliffhanger. Danny is looking for Harold, which is unfortunate timing because Haroldjuuuuustfinished getting murdered by his own son. Credit: Cara Howe/Netflix Danny, of course, thinks the gigantic trail of blood in the penthouse must be the Hands doing. He wants to attack Madame Gaos base in China. Ah well, save that for the next show, I guess....

But before we get to her, we need to talk about the big return in the episode. Yes, surprising no one, Harold Meachum has returned from the dead, and it’s quite silly. It’s sort of like Ra’s al Ghul’s relationship with the Lazarus Pit....
