Alas, Cameron doesnt quite understand how hurt he is and runs off to the woods. Unfortunately, Cecil has no idea how it works, because Cameron is streets ahead. Whats even more awkward? Tom telling Cam that he and his new girlfriend/wife are moving to suburbs because shes pregnant. While that throws Cameron for a second, she nevertheless hugs him goodbye and apologizes for everything that happened....

Gordon agrees, and Joe hops on the phone with Haley, who agrees to come back....

On any other TV series, isolating lead characters and making them relate via technology might yield dramatic entropy. But the arc of this exquisitely acted conversation exemplifiesHalt and Catch Fires dynamic powers. And Joe and Camerons epic phone call is a metaphor for the evolution of online communication. The slick, computer-ageMad Menwannabe, buggy with tired edginess, sharpened and shaped up in season 2....
